Commissions

Do you want a song made just for you? Do you want to hear your ideas without any musical knowledge? Do you want a theme song for your character? No matter your needs, MELOD is here to help!

To order a commission, please contact me on my Discord server (preferred) or through my Ko-fi page. I do not actively follow other social media. You can see my examples here and queue here.

Pricing

There are three price tiers for my music commissions, and all of them give you a full-length (approximately 4 minutes) song with usage rights, but the degree of those usage rights changes between tiers. If you want a very short or a very long piece of music or want to order multiple pieces at once, the prices are negotiable.

Tier 1 – 40€

Tier 1 will grant you a song and full non-commercial usage rights to it. I need to be credited for the song. In technical terms, you are granted a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. I reserve the right to (and will) release the song either as a single or as a part of an album, and will introduce it to the YouTube Content ID system to claim ad revenue on videos that use the song.

Tier 2 – 75€

Tier 2 will grant you the same license as tier 1, but with an exception to the non-commercial clause, giving you permission to use it in monetised videos in both on-demand (YouTube, Vimeo etc.) and live (Twitch, YouTube Live etc.) platforms. Additionally, I will not release the song nor claim YouTube videos, but I do reserve the right to use the track as an example on this website. Commercial usage rights in sold products (movie, video game etc.) do not come with the tier but can be negotiated.

Tier 3 – 150€

Tier 3 is the same as tier 2, but forgoes the need for attribution. If you want to use the song in a platform or product that makes crediting impossible, this tier is for you. However, this is not a completely royalty free license. You may not claim the song as your own work, and commercial usage rights in sold products need to be negotiated just like in tier 2.

Overview

First of all, I need to mention that I am the most experienced in electronic music genres. While I am able to use realistic-sounding acousting instruments through professional sample libraries, some instruments are harder to get sounding right than others. Additionally, I am not able to provide vocals at the current time, but I can make music around vocals provided by you.

However, I am not going to let you buy a pig in a poke. Whenever you order a commission from me, I will always deliver a short sketch for approval before payment is required. If this sketch is not up to your standards, you can request changes, a completely new sketch from a blank slate, or you can forgo from continuing forwards in the commission process.

You can ask for as much specific details as you want, and if something is hard or impossible for me to do, I will bring that to your attention. On the other hand, you can also have as little details as possible. I can produce music based on a character, a mood, a poem, a colour scheme, pretty much anything. Not knowing what you exactly want is not a problem for me.

Character Theme Songs

A speciality of mine is character theme song commissions. No matter what kind of character you have (an original character, a fan character, a persona/fursona), as long as you can describe what they are like, I can turn those ideas into music.

You can decide a genre or elements of the song, or you can just leave it for me to interpret those from the character description. You can also send me reference songs that have the kinds of sounds you want.

Examples

Here are some examples of the commissions I have done, For non-commission examples of my work, see this page.

For Nyaomix:

An energetic background song with a steady beat and melodic vocal chops. Fit for a funny lynx.

Background song for Nyaomix

A quirky and very melodic background song. The switching instruments are dancing around each other.

Background song for Nyaomix

A hyped intro song with a handz up -style beat and bassline. Perfect for getting the mood just right.

Intro song for Nyaomix

For MysticLight:

A very calm and ethereal background song with lots of pretty chimes and vibes.

Background song for MysticLight

A chill and warm synthwave theme song for Echo, with smooth chord progressions for feeling of adventure and magic.

Echo is a shy but adventurous fox girl. She is a daydreamer and loves everything magical.

Theme song for Echo

A theme song commission for Aleu‘s character Nightfall.

Nightfall, a former god of a planet, was betrayed by his superiors and his former mate and has been out for vengeance ever since. He will let nothing stand in his way on his quest for revenge, which has led him into madness.

The song is very aggressive drum and bass, captivating the rage that lives inside Nightfall.

Theme song for Nightfall

A commission by Pompo for Twilunai.

For this commission I was asked to do something orchestral, sweet and mellow with a harp and Studio Ghibli vibes. What started out as extremely calm went towards something a little less calm, but still definitely mellow and very wholesome. I named the song Resolve.

Resolve

A theme song commission for Kennedy‘s character Kennedy.

Kind yet chaotic, Kennedy loves to be there for his friends and make them smile. He also is just a goofy person in general. He likes all things soft, yellow, and bees.

The song is a very uplifting happy hardcore / hypercore song with lots of energy, with a few calmer moments to reflect Kennedy’s personality.

Kennedy

A theme song for my character Maple.

Maple is a sweet and outgoing girl who loves autumn. She’s always with her friends one way or another, be it in a big party or pawflix and chilling at home.

The song tries to capture her happy-go-lucky attitude with cheerful melodies and groove.

Maple

Three songs for a secret game project. While I cannot tell much about the game itself, it will be an RPG. All of the songs are orchestral/cinematic.

Intro is a melancholic title screen song for the game. It’s trying to tell the player that the game’s story will be sad and rough.

Intro

Town 1 is a lighthearted and happy song for the small town that you first visit in the game, inhabited by simple-minded but honest and wholesome people.

Town 1

Shrine is a song for, well, a shrine. It is magical and otherworldy, with feelings of both safety and uncertainty.
